It is officially the OFF SEASON!
The Bats lost their playoff game tonight, so the season is officially over! That means Curtis gets to go camping next weekend with the guys from our home life group. I'm going with the girls, so we've got to find pet sitters...kinda hard when you have a dog, 8 cats (5 still nursing) and 2 fish. Here's what we did this weekend!!
D-List Litter + 1
Ok, here are the newest babies...get ready for the collective "awwwww"...because they are darn cute! Once again, Shamrock requires the litter to have names that all begin with the same letter, so here are Darla, Demi, Dugan, and Duff....plus Dulcenea (not a biological sister, but will eventually be mixed in with the bunch). They are now about 4 weeks old and we will be weaning them off the bottle soon...which won't be easy for some of them, because they LOVE it! This past week we've been feeding every four hours...which means I've been up at 3:00 or 4:00 A.M. every night...that will soon be over soon as we change over to soft, then hard food.
Duff (the bigger of the two boys...although "Doogie" is catching up!)
Dugan ("Doogie's" white spot gives him away)
Darla (the chunk)

Demi (the tiny baby)
Dulcenea (she is tinier than the litter, but older...and she is a little spaz, runs around and loves to bite your arms when she plays.)
Demi (the tiny baby)
Here's Demi scarfing some formula!

Brown Bedspreads!
Ok, this is not a very important blog, but it's something that's bugging me! I've been on the hunt for a bedspread...probably most of the year. I thought I've found one several times in magazines or online, only to find that the color wasn't accurate and in the store is not what I want. The trend right now seems to be BROWN....which is a great color, but not one I want in my bedroom. Seriously, look at a JC Penny's catalogue this fall. Every other bedspread is either predominantly brown, or accented in brown/tan/khaki. I am looking for something described as a "graphic comforter" where it looks more like a picture than a pattern with white, red, silver/greyblue (not gold)! If anybody sees anything like that, tell me!
Long Weekend
Ah, Labor Day weekend. I started this post on Friday...so it's posted a little out of order chronologically...I don't know how to fix that, so oh well. Anyways, this Saturday was the first day in a long time when Curtis and I were actually home all day! So, we worked on the fence...all day long. Raz came over and helped...all day long. What a trooper! He and Curtis worked on the actual construction and got sooo much done. I spent practically all day trying to remove one warped post that was sunk in 80 lbs of concrete in gravelly clay! But it finally came out. Curtis had to work Sunday and Monday, the last two regular season games. We made cakes for the staff in celebration. The Bats have made it into the first round of playoffs and although I hope they keep winning, I also want the season to end! Ah, having this extra weekend day is quite lovely...I've got some cleaning to do. When Curtis gets home we're going to the east end to shop for a bedspread (hopefully find one this time) and eat at the Cheesecake Factory. We can't stay away from the house for too long at a time because we acquired a new litter of kittens this weekend. There are four of them (2m/2f)and they are 3 weeks old, so they require bottle feeding every 4 hrs and still need stimulated (although they're starting to use the litter box, woohoo). They're also on an antibiotic because they have diarreah the poor things. They are soo blasted cute though. I'll create a new post for them and add a video soon. Oh, and these have been dubbed "D" kittens...Demi, Darla, Duff and Dugan (aka. Doogie).

Weekend at Home
We had a great "birthday" weekend at home a couple weeks ago and I thought I'd put up some pics. Curtis' birthday was the 15th so I took off work and we went home for a long weekend. He helped his dad and brother re-shingle part of their house (I helped some too) for most of the weekend. Dad and I went to the "Iced Tea Cluster Dog Show" in Muncie and had a great time. It's a nice little show that used to be held out at the airfield, but they've moved it to the fairgrounds, which is a much better venue. We had a party for all the Cunningham August birthdays and we had a party for Leslie, Travis and Curtis with my family and some friends as well. Leslie and I sang at FFC for the first time in a long time. We'll be going back and singing again on Sept. 21st and I'm excited for that. We don't get to sing together very often anymore and I jump at the opportunity. Also, I had the grand suprise of getting a call from Mimi and finding out that she was flying in for the weekend! We got together over at Amanda Athearn's parents (Moore's) and visited for quite a while. It was so great to see everybody and meet Luke for the first time! We started talking "10 year reunion", so I've started a facebook account to see how many classmates I can get in touch with to start planning the event! I really can't believe it's been 10 years....crazy.
