11 months, The Bruised Blur

C'mon Mom! It's time for my 11 month pictures! We're two days late this time!

As soon as I put her in the rocking chair this month, she started throwing "Beary" out of it...so we had to distract her a bit with other toys.

That worked for a minute...

Then she was at it again! Poor Beary.

Then she decided all the toys on the floor that Abram was playing with looked like much more fun than posing for pics.

She kept throwing herself from the chair into my lap, "fledgling bird" style.

"Selfie"

I kept throwing her back up into the chair, but it's hard to do that and focus the camera without a flash. So this month she looks like a "bruised blur"...very representative of her age I think. Abram was also a "blur", and he was bruised for that matter, for his 11 month photo shoot.

Mom, quit throwing me or I'm gonna cry.

 I warned you!

Took a quick break then managed to snap a few more...still blurry...

I wanna go down there and play...

Finally turned the flash on and got this big cheesy grin (can see her two teeth!) I think I was shaking a rattle.

Everything goes in her mouth. Here she was cannibalizing a Lego man.

Ha!

Playing with brother on the floor.

 Loves the little rocking chair.
She now knows how to climb in, turn around and sit down. Occasionally she'll still try to stand, but she's getting the hang of it.

She's about 27" tall, 18 lbs. Crawls REALLY fast and seems content with that mode of transport. She "cruises" around under the table and has taken steps to people. Usually one or two, sometimes four or five. Grandma counted steps up to nine the other day without collapse. Her "first steps" were on 11-3, so almost 11 months. I have video of Abram walking WELL at 3 days shy of 10 months. She does well getting up the stairs...just not down:)

She loves books and wants to turn the pages of the board books. She's jabbering in a more "conversational" way. We'll make a sound, she'll make a sound. Abram loves that! She'll give "noggins" but doesn't really give kisses. She has been sticking her tongue out lately, so I've been trying to get her to put the word and body part together! Cracks me up, she looks like Gene Simmons from KISS. She responds well to her name and "look at mommy", and definitely understands (although doesn't always obey) "no, no". I think she will be strong-willed...hopefully not more than Abram.

She hasn't really gravitated to any specific toys at our house, but at Mom and Dad's she always goes for the bug pop beads. They are the first thing pulled out of the toy cabinet every time. She plays really well independently...I don't remember Abram doing that! Loves pulling all the toys out of the hamper or toy box. She likes the hippo walker, but gets tired of it when it hits the wall and won't move farther. We put the red walker away because she did NOT like being stuck in that thing!

She sleeps really well at night, occasionally wakes and cries out, but goes right back to sleep. She hasn't had any more teeth cutting through so no pain issues waking her up either. She is starting to show more food preferences, but she still tries and eats most things we offer. She's been drinking her milk from a Tupperware sippy cup, so I've started mixing in some cows milk with her breast milk. I'm hoping when we wean, we can wean from bottles as well. She'll definitely be ready by a year...she could care less about breastfeeding.

Time to start planning a first birthday party!!

10 Months...3 weeks ago

I know, I know, 3 months late...see my previous post for excuses. At least my pictures are TAKEN on time!

So, 10 months and quite active and smiley for this photo shoot! She kept leaning way forward over the edge of the chair...made taking pictures a bit difficult.

 "Mommy, quit pushing me backwards!"

Love this pretty dress...a bit cool outside for sleeveless now, but had to get a picture of it.

Smilin' and chillin'

Big smile but still can't see her teeth. There are only 2 still.

 My favorite picture:)

  Getting "Beary"

Pushing him out of the chair.

Still sucks her thumb when she's sleepy, but now that she's crawling everywhere, I don't see her with her thumb in her mouth very often. Just pops it in there when I lay her down for her nap.

He loves her....really, he does...a bit too roughly at times.

Best pic of the two of them....one or the other is usually a blur!

We're working on tickling v. choking!

She LOVES the little rocking chair. In and out, in and out, in and out. She's finally figured out how to climb in, turn around and sit on her own. She still likes to stand up and hold on to the back but she's learning that she's not supposed to do that!

Ah, the phone....like moths to the flame!

She's crawling fast now and cruising everywhere. Really hasn't taken any real steps yet...although Grandpa might argue that (at 10 m 3 w). Well, I stand corrected, she just took a few steps in my parents kitchen just now! She'll be walking very soon (about a month behind Abram).

She's starting to make more noises, clucks her tongue and chatters with mamama, dadadada, tatata, nananas. When you hold her she points and points to different things she wants to see, pictures, statues, mirrors, etc. Its so cute:)

She is still VERY attached to me, but has been going to my parents fairly well. Does fine in the nursery in the mornings, but cries for our evening class, so we have to bring her in with us. Hopefully she'll get over this soon and be a little more social with more people.

Wearing her 9-12 month clothes, but they are big. She so tiny compared to Abram! She still only wears a size 2 shoe. her hair is getting longer and still curls at the base of her neck. It will be interesting to see if the curl goes away.

To blog or not to blog...

That is the question.

Since we moved back to Farmland in May, blogging has dropped to last on my priority list. As can be seen by my last 8 posts or so, all I'm managing to blog are Lydia's monthly pictures. I would blog more, because I do love to write and document other goings on in our household, but there are several complications to this endeavor.

Our computer is not connected to the internet. Curtis occasionally brings his laptop home, which we can use online by searching for open Wifi networks, but other than that, my only internet is through my phone. I'm writing this post from my parents computer!

When we lived three hours away, blogging was a fun easy way to share pictures with the family back home. It helped them not feel so far away and vice versa. Now they're not far away and pretty much know what we're doing, or in fact, taking part! I know there are others who would like to follow what's going on in our lives, but my motivation has plummeted with my internet resources. Hopefully, my ability to add pictures to Facebook with my phone has curbed a little of your disappointment in my post-less blog.

So, I apologize to those of you who DO follow my blog. It has become a bit monotonous I fear with my lack of regular posts. I will continue. It will be a while before we have regular internet...so they will be few and far between, but I will persevere.

9 months!

Lydia Rose, 9 months old. She "chose" which dress to wear for this photo shoot. I laid two options out on the ground and she crawled (yes, crawled) to this one and snatched it up. She has good taste:) This is the dress she wore for her baby dedication service on Sunday. She looks so beautiful in it!

To bow or not to bow, that is the question!

Fascinated by the light...and more tolerant of Beary in this photo shoot than last month.

 Still sucks her thumb frequently.

Beautiful smile, but no teeth. She has been drooling like a faucet the last two days so SURELY this month something will pop through...not that I mind the toothlessness!

She figured out that she could rock the chair if she wiggled back and forth. A little love bite for Beary, but she never did pull him over or throw him off the chair. She almost pitched forward off the chair a few times!

Her hair has grown long enough that the tiny hair clips will stay in for a little while! They look so precious! Oh I hope she has some "girly girl" in her...it would break my heart a little if she didn't like to dress up once in a while.

"wha?"

"Gypsy!" (the cat kept circling the chair, which only made Lydia more difficult to capture in focus!)

Or rather, to BONNET!

These two poses! I just love them!

and this one...

 and this one...

"Give me that!"

Moved down to the little rocker...she kept trying to jump out of the big one.

The bonnet wins in my book. It compliments her cheeks perfectly!

So glad I forgot to take these pictures until after her afternoon nap. This lighting was intense and beautiful!

Stats:

She is mobile. Crawls everywhere now. She briefly scooted on one knee and pushed with a foot but now her crawl is quite classic. She also will scoot around in the walker now too...but would rather not be confined to it. She can sit up from laying down and also pull up to a stand (9 m 4 d) but she has been pulling up on my fingers for quite a while.

She has started waving when we wave to her. Her first wave was at Debi Howell, after church. She is social but will tuck her face towards me and smile when people talk to her and she is DEFINITELY not happy with other people holding her if I am in her presence. She's "talkative" and will jibber jabber and screech. Unlike Abram, she likes to say "mamamamamama".

She eats like a HORSE! I am sold on Babyled Weaning. I know at some point she will begin to show preferences/likes/dislikes with food, but right now, she will eat almost anything we offer. Some days she doesn't eat solids and just prefers to nurse, but most of the time, she just wolfs it down!
I scheduled her for a 9 month appointment (we weren't going to have one, but I changed my mind), I'll post length/weight numbers once I have those confirmed. I'm predicting she's probably about 50%/25%. **Update: Well I was right-ish. She was 27" long and weighed 16 lbs 3 oz, which actually put her in the 25% in both categories. Dr. Alfata said she could still hit a growth spurt and it didn't indicate that she'd be little, but I think she will be littler. Even though I'm tall, there are quite a few little ladies on my dad's side!
